# Governance Council Functions **Governance Council Objective** The main aim of the governance council is to bring new initiatives to the platform for the benefit of the entire edverse community and stakeholders, while ensuring the sustainability of the platform. **Governance Functions** The council has the responsibility to scrutinize new proposals put up by the community. Any Community member who has staked more than a certain number of EDV token, may propose new initiatives that are for the benefit of the community of edverse. These proposals will be scrutinized and approved by the council.
